- The UK producer announced the reissue over Facebook last week.
UK house producer Nail (AKA Neil Tolliday) will soon reissue his sought-after 1996 album Big D's Lounge.
Originally released on the defunct Nottingham label Strictly 4 Groovers, Big D's Lounge is considered by many as one of UK house music's essential LPs. It remained relatively unknown until recently, only resurfacing after several Nail tracks appeared on high-profile mix CDs—Roman Flügel's Live At Robert Johnson featured 1995 cut "Optimus," while Zip included "Till The Feelings Gone," taken from Big D's Lounge, in his Fabric 67 mix. Tolliday's Nail project was subsequently the subject of several reissues, including the four-track Ode Rammel on Fear Of Flying in 2013.
The Big D's Lounge reissue will be released through Nail's 99:WAVE outlet. As Tolliday explained in a recent Facebook post, proceeds from sales will go towards Focus12 and Maggie's Centre Nottingham, a rehabilitation centre and cancer charity, respectively. There's no official release date set, but copies will hit stores "before the summer."
"In 2012 I spent three months at a rehab in Suffolk called Focus12," Tolliday says. "It's fair to say that I wouldn't be around to see this album's 20th anniversary if it wasn't for that place. It's also a charity, so I'm donating all my share of any profit from sales of the album to Focus12. And it doesn't stop there. Massive big up to Juno Distribution, who have also agreed to donate their share of any sales money to Maggie's Centre Nottingham, a charity who provide care for cancer patients and their families."
