  • Pioneer DJ has revealed a prototype of a new DJ setup geared for professional settings, which includes new models with mounted display screens. DJ Tech Tools shared news of the setup—which seems to be modelled closely on the recently unveiled Nexus 2 series—from the Pioneer DJ booth at the NAMM conference in Anaheim. The Tour series does add some new functions, such as a second headphone cueing system for the DJM-Tour1 and a heftier Pro Link input for the CDJ-Tour1, but the real kicker is the addition of monitor screens mounted above the decks and mixer. Images show the screens running the rekordbox DJ software, complete with waveforms for four decks, metering and music database access. The announcement follows other blockbuster product debuts, like the Dave Smith Instruments OB-6, Arturia's MatrixBrute and the Rane MP2014, at the indefatigable industry conference.
