- The pioneering German group will stage eight Norwegian concerts over four days in August 2016.
Kraftwerk has announced the Oslo Opera House as the next stop for its multimedia 3D concert tour.
The latest chapter in the Düsseldorf group's nearly 50-year career has involved 3D-visual assisted performances of its landmark albums in a tour which counts New York's MoMA, London's Tate Modern, the Sydney Opera House and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA among its stops. For the August 2016 dates, Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider's band takes up residency in the Norwegian capital's Opera House, which typically serves as home base for The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. The concerts walk through landmark albums chronologically, with the group set to perform Autobahn, Radio-Activity, Trans Europe Express, The Man-Machine, Computer World, Techno Pop, The MIx and Tour De France between August 4th and August 7th, 2016.
In the lead-up to the announcement, the organizers of the shows have placed installations around Oslo consisting of eight numbers which light up and speak the digit in question when triggered by pedestrians. The stunt references "Numbers," a single from the 1981 LP Computer World.
