- The new record from Helios's solo piano project features a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Keith Kenniff will release a new Goldmund album on November 13th.
The American musician, who otherwise makes sweeping, post-rock inspired music as Helios, uses the Goldmund alias for his piano compositions. Sometimes is the first Goldmund record since 2011, and it was recorded over a period of three years—usually late at night, after Kenniff had finished his for-hire work and spent time with his family. (He has written music for films, TV shows and commercials for companies like Apple, Google and Facebook.)
The label calls Sometimes "a journal documenting brief moments in Kenniff's day when he could turn to the piano as a source of solace and unending creative possibilities." The album features a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto, the Japanese composer and pianist who recently came back from a diagnosis with throat cancer. You can check out the title track below.
