- The Tarcar and F ingers member will drop Tarquin Magnet, his first solo effort, in November.
Blackest Ever Black will put out a solo album from Tarquin Manek in late November.
The Australian artist will be familiar to fans of the label's recent output through his group projects like Tarcar and F ingers. Blackest Ever Black call Tarquin Magnet "a unique synthesis of time-dilating folk-jazz romanticism, brittle chamber dub and plasmic post-techno electronics." It's the first time that Manek has had a full solo release on the UK imprint, after an appearance on their recent compilation. (He also released an album as LST on Another Dark Age earlier on in 2015).
For Tarquin Magnet, Manek's methods consisted of improvising and making field recordings, "literally grabbing at whatever's available—clarinet, keyboard, dictaphone, mobile phone—and throwing it into the crock." Check out the 13-minute "Sassafras Gesundheit" below.
