- Sandunes and Star Eyes are also on the lineup for the collective's anniversary party in Brooklyn this month.
Bossa Nova Civic Club will host Discwoman's first birthday on Saturday, September 19th.
The Brooklyn collective grew out of a two-night festival program that went down at Bossa Nova in September of last year. Its aim is to push back against music industry sexism by supporting female-identified DJs and producers.
Since their inaugural event, the group—which includes artists like Umfang, Via App and Volvox—has hosted events across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, including a panel discussion at the Red Bull Studios in April. They've also launched their own booking agency.
Discwoman's one-year anniversary will see the crew return to Bossa Nova with a genre-spanning lineup that includes local favorites Honey Dijon and Juliana Huxtable. Sandunes, Star Eyes, Katie Rex and Shy Eyez all round out the bill.
