- The new Chicago festival, also featuring Cashmere Cat and James Murphy, will launch this July.
Mamby On The Beach will take place for the first time in Chicago on July 11th and 12th.
The new festival is the latest endeavour from React Presents, who are the minds behind the more EDM-leaning Spring Awakening and North Coast gatherings that also happen in the Windy City. This one is reportedly inspired by a former weekly Chicago party, and the idea is "to reflect the unparalleled experience of Chicago in the summer and preserve the history of Chicago as the home of house music." Mamby will take over a "new and untouched lakefront venue" on Oakwood Beach, with two stages offering a mix of live performers and DJs.
Art Department will play their last-ever Chicago gig as a duo, following the announcement that the act would become Jonny White's solo project two weeks ago. DJ highlights include James Murphy, George FitzGerald, Matthew Dear, Cashmere Cat, J.Phlip and Farley Jackmaster Funk. Among the other performers are Classixx, Empire Of The Sun, Passion Pit, Royksopp and No Regular Play, with Cut Copy slated for a DJ set.
