  • Closer PDX will throw a Movement pre-party headlined by Jeff Derringer at Rotture on May 2nd. The Portland techno stronghold will prepare for the annual Detroit pilgrimage with Derringer, a Smart Bar resident who has complimented his Oktave events with releases on Speedy J's Electric Deluxe and Perc Trax. Closer will also bring out Detroit veteran Keith Kemp. Kemp got his start over two decades ago working at famed Motor City vinyl outpost Record Time, a shuttered shop that also counts Rick Wilhite and Mike Huckaby among its former employees. He's now the primary resident for Paxahau, the promoters who organize the annual Hart Plaza gathering. A back-to-back vinyl set from JAK and Andrew Boie, and a live performance from Audioelectronic, round out the bill. Check out Derringer's recent Blank Code podcast below.
