Mood Hut will throw a party in Vancouver this coming Saturday, February 21st.
Though the past two years have seen the West Coast crew earn international plaudits (and plenty of tour dates abroad), the late-night event is the first Mood Hut-branded gig in Vancouver since 2013. In the meantime, various members have put on their own events with cryptic titles like "Evening Music Event" at a handful of venues around the city. It'll go down in the Downtown Eastside with a still-secret lineup, but they promise that they'll be "airing local music by us, our friends and our extended family" (which probably includes the Pender Street Steppers, who recently recorded an RA podcast). They'll also have the free sparkling water that was a fixture at the old Mood Hut gigs.
