- Dream A Garden, a 'record about love and resistance,' is coming through Night Slugs in March.
Jam City has offered up the full tracklist of his next LP, Dream A Garden.
The album was first hinted at last fall when Jack Latham teased "Unhappy". That first single revealed a new, indie-influenced sound built around Latham's own guitar and vocals, following on from the more contemplative series of Earthly mixes (clock the most recent one here.
A press release promises that Dream A Garden is "not a total break from the world of Classical Curves, but rather an inversion: what becomes of the people struggling to live and love beneath the chrome-plated, vacuous and superficial machinery that we must fight to see beyond?" The rest of the album, including second single "Crisis", continues down the path of "Unhappy," with the label claiming country music, grime, hip-hop, punk and "sound system guitar dynamix" as influences, and a "generation raised on empty promises, SSRIs and indefinite war" as some of the themes.
As with most of Latham's work, Night Slugs will release Dream A Garden. You can watch a new video for "Unhappy" below, and check out Jam City's new website, which explores some of the record's themes, here.
