- The Seattle festival, taking place in late September, announced its first wave of bookings this morning.
Decibel Festival's 11th edition will take place in Seattle from September 24th through the 29th.
After last year's tenth anniversary blowout (and a celebratory feature), founder and organizer Sean Horton told RA that he wasn't sure if the 11th year would see an continued growth or reduction in the festival's future—but judging from this first wave of names, it doesn't look like Decibel is getting any smaller.
Among the highlights are Richie Hawtin, Kode9, John Roberts, Simian Mobile Disco, Marc Kinchen, Soul Clap and Wolf + Lamb. On the more experimental side of things they've got Vatican Shadow, Demdike Stare, Millie & Andrea and Rrose, while Baths, Groundislava (with Rare Times), Atom TM and Chet Faker make up some of the live performers.
As usual, all of that will go down across various venues and nightclubs in Seattle (most of them concentrated in and around the Capitol Hill neighbourhood), as well as boat parties, seated theatre events and an outdoor dB in the Park event. There's also an extensive daytime program to be revealed later on in the year, which hosts workshops, lectures, interviews and film screenings.
