  • AYBEE and Afrikan Sciences have teamed up for a collaborative album called Sketches Of Space. Set for release in July via the duo's Deepblak Recordings, the LP is billed as a tribute to Miles Davis. They haven't named any particular Davis track or album as inspiration, instead referencing the jazz icon's "pioneering spirit" and "continual search for new sound" (though the title is most likely a nod to his 1960 LP Sketches Of Spain). They're quick to point out that Sketches Of Space is not a jazz album, but it does feature plenty of free-flowing improvisation spread across six tracks (including the three-part "Deep East Suite"). It was recorded in Berlin and Oakland. Both AYBEE and Afrikan Sciences released solo albums on Deepblak in 2013: the former put out Worlds, while the latter was responsible for Theta Wave Brain Sync. Tracklist 01. Deep East Suite Part 01 (The Call) 02. Deep East Suite Part 02 (Response) 03. Deep East Suite Part 03 (Sunward) 04. K-Fetisch 01 (Kosmo Bahn) 05. K-Fetisch 02 (Vibes) 06. Knew What's Coming (Sculpture) Deepblak will release Sketches Of Space in July 2014.
