The Canadian producer has lined up six gigs, including NYE in Victoria, with Cobblestone Jazz and Hrdvsion.
Canadian-born, Berlin-based producer and live act Mathew Jonson has half a dozen gigs across North America confirmed for the coming weeks.
Jonson's latest set of shows on this side of the Atlantic starts with a bang at Brooklyn's Output, on Friday, December 20th. There, The Bunker has him booked for an eight-hour session alongside his brother Nathan Jonson, AKA Hrdvsion, and resident DJ Derek Plaslaiko, which looks to feature solo sets from each artist, the two brothers performing as Midnight Operator, and all three jamming together. (As Jonson explained in an email to RA: "We have the whole night to do as we please—it's kind of a free-for-all.") The following evening will see Jonson swing through Detroit to play Paxahau's Blue Ball 5 at TV Lounge.
On Friday the 27th, Jonson will hit Spy Bar in Chicago, where he's billed with Kate Simko, a Windy City native now based in London. Saturday the 28th has those two artists heading to San Francisco for the second annual Ugly Sweater Party at Public Works, hosted by As You Like It, where Jonson will again link up with Hrdvsion for a set as Midnight Operator, while UK DJ Ewan Pearson tops off the program in the loft. Then, to ring in 2013, the Jonson brothers will return to Victoria, British Columbia for a New Year's Eve party with Cobblestone Jazz (AKA Mathew Jonson, Danuel Tate and Tyger Dhula) and Hrdvsion featuring on the lineup. That should be a special one, as it'll be the first time Mathew Jonson plays with Cobblestone Jazz at home in over six years.
Lastly, he'll go south of the border to Playa Del Carmen for Crosstown Rebels' Day Zero shindig, which will see appearances from head Rebel Damian Lazarus, Magda and Thievery Corporation, to name just a few.
Tickets to the events in Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco and Playa Del Carmen are available on RA.
