- The veteran Detroit house DJ's third album drops on Planet E early next year.
The new album from Terrence Parker, Life On The Back 9, is out on Planet E next month.
You might know Parker best for his feats in the DJ booth, where he employs a good deal of turntablism (and a telephone handset converted into DJ headphones) to mix house, disco and beyond. Over the course of his 25-year career, though, he's also put out more than 100 records and remixed artists from Moodymann to Christina Aguilera. Life On The Back 9 is Parker's third album and his first solo long-player since 1997's Detroit After Dark. He says the name comes from the term for the second half of an 18-hole golf game. During a difficult stretch in his life, Parker says his dad told him, "Terrence, if you think of your life as a game of golf, perhaps the front 9 did not go as you had liked. But don't give up because you still have the back 9.”
