- The Stroboscopic Artefacts chief's second solo album is due out in February.

Lucy is preparing his second solo album, Churches Schools And Guns, for a mid-February release on his own label, Stroboscopic Artefacts.
The provocatively-titled album will arrive about three years after Lucy's debut full-length Wordplay For Working Bees. It's been in the making for a year and a half, but the Italian-born, Berlin-based artist (real name Luca Mortellaro) has certainly kept busy otherwise, with a steady stream of tracks and remixes as both a solo producer and collaborator. Perhaps most notable on that front is his work with Speedy J under the name Zeitgeber, which resulted in a self-titled album for Stroboscopic Artefacts earlier in the year.
Churches Schools And Guns sees Lucy continuing to refine his experimental approach to techno production. A press release describes it as sounding "like the act of searching," with 12 tracks emphasizing "misdirection and unpredictability." It'll be made available on CD and digital formats as well as 3xLP vinyl, making it the second artist album on Stroboscopic Artefacts, after Zeitgeber, to get a full vinyl release. As usual for the label, mastering is being done by Dadub, and Ignazio Mortellaro of Oblivious Artefacts is handling art direction and design.
