- The Seattle producer will release his second album through Systematic in December.
Pezzner will release his sophomore album, Last Night In Utopia, in December.
Starting out in the late 90s as one half of the duo Jacob London, Seattle resident Dave Pezzner broke out on his own in 2008. Known for an especially melodic sound that skirts deep house and techno (and hits lots of places in between), he's been a bit of a nomad when it comes to record labels. In those five years, his name has been on Crosstown Rebels, Smoke N' Mirrors, 8bit and Freerange Records, the latter having released his debut album, 2010's The Tracks Are Alive.
Last Night In Utopia was largely conceived of in 2011 during a particularly hectic period in Pezzner's life. The producer wrote most of the tracks in Malta and Rome, and then fine-tuned them while traveling on planes and trains, taking inspiration from the happenings around him. The 15-track album comes via Marc Romboy's Systematic Recordings, which Pezzner debuted on earlier this year with the LP's first single, "All Night Dancing Party."
