- David Moufang will release an ambient album in honour of his friend Pete Namlook, who died last year.
Move D has revealed details of a new ambient album called The Silent Orbiter.
The record, which will be released in December through experimental label txt, contains just one single track lasting 54 minutes. Move D, real name David Moufang, says the album is a personal tribute to his friend and collaborator Pete Namlook, who died in November 2012. Speaking to RA, Moufang described The Silent Orbiter as "rather dark and droney, requiem style"—the label meanwhile depicts it as a "deep, epic ambient opus."
Though he's best known these days for his house-centric productions as Move D, Moufang has a long association with ambient music that dates back to the early '90s through his own productions and the Source Records imprint that he ran with Jonas Grossmann.
