  • Pioneer has unveiled a new line of studio monitors, the S-DJ X series. The company, known for its club-standard CDJs and mixers, has been branching out of late, most notably with a club soundsystem line. The company has plenty of history selling speakers, but this line seem especially geared toward Pioneer's end of the market. The active monitors come in three woofer sizes: 5-, 6- and 8-inch, all made from stiff aramid fiber and mounted on thick baffles. Pioneer says that, along with the Class AB bi-amplifiers that are powering them, this should result in accurate, resonance-free bass response. The whole line comes equipped with one-inch tweeters borrowed from their pro-audio brand TAD. The company is also touting the S-DJ X's ample sweet spot, "3D stereo sound" and range of input options. Have a look at them in the promotional video below:
Pioneer's S-DJ X monitor line is set for release this September in 5-, 6- and 8-inch configurations for a suggested retail price of 149 / 199 / 249 Euro per unit.
