LiveControl 2, the next generation of Liine's touchscreen Ableton Live controller, is now available.
The controller will probably look familiar to those who work with Liine's best-known device, Lemur, the iPad-predating customizable touchscreen controller. That's because LiveControl 2, designed in partnership with the ST8, is something like a finished Lemur device. (The controller itself is free, but you'll need Lemur, a paid iOS app, to run it.) It encapsulates much of what would be on anyone's Lemur wishlist for manipulating Ableton Live. LiveControl 2, a "regrouped, refined and streamlined" version of Liine's first-generation controller, spreads its functionality across four pages—Launch, Modulate, Play and Sequencer—and its features both lend novel touchscreen control to Live and expands upon what the DAW can do. LiveControl 2 is now available for users of the Lemur iPad app, which is available through the App Store for $49.99.
