- Kiran Sande's label continues its string of LPs with an effort from the American five-piece.
Raspberry Bulbs will release their next album, Deformed Worship, through Blackest Ever Black.
The five-person band (which was originally a solo endeavour of M. del Rio) have done one album before: 2011's Nature Tries Again, released through Dominick Fernow's Hospital Productions. According to a press release, the first version of Deformed Worship "was scrapped, and its songs re-recorded by the band on cassette 8-track in November 2012."
The song titles on the album give you some insight into the outfit's aesthetic: "Cracked Flesh," "Lusty Climbing" and "Groping The Angel's Face" are some of the highlights (you can listen to the latter over on the BEB SoundCloud page). Their raucous guitar-based sound is a notable departure from previous Blackest Ever Black material, though the press release stresses that Raspberry Bulbs are "not a black metal band." Deformed Worship will be the label's fifth full-length of 2013, following efforts from Dalhous, Shampoo Boy, Prurient and a soon-to-be-released LP from Lustmord.
