  • Veteran dub techno purveyor Deadbeat has announced the re-release of his debut LP Primordia. Primordia originally came out in 2001 through the now-defunct label Intr_version, when Deadbeat, real name Scott Monteith, was working at the Montreal-based software company Applied Acoustics Systems. Since then, he's taken his crackling, echo-laden productions to labels like ~scape, Wagon Repair and Echocord, and now has eight solo albums under his belt. Due out later this month, Primordia will get new life on Deadbeat's own label BLKRTZ. Prolific studio engineer Stefan Betke—Monteith's longtime friend who has also earned acclaim for his own dubbed-out Pole project—will handle the remastering of the album. It'll be made available again on CD and, for the first time, a double-vinyl pack. Tracklist A1 Public Inspiration A2 Jaffa Dub B1 Peripheral Artifacts B2 Elder Drums C1 As We Conquer D1 Minus Fourty Madness D2 Sunday Morning BLKRTZ will re-release Primordia on April 29th, 2013.
