- The duo will follow up 2012's Magik Cyrkles with a new compilation, due out in April.
Psychemagik will release a compilation called Magik Sunrise through Leng in April.
The release will arrive six months after Magik Cyrkles, which saw the Kent-based duo compile a selection of obscure Balearica, disco and funk. This next compilation follows an equally adventurous trajectory, with the label promising a mix of African reggae, jazz-funk, prog rock, folk and New Age curios. As with Magik Cyrkles, the unmixed compilation will be released on gatefold vinyl, double CD and digital formats through Leng, the Claremont 56 sublabel co-run by Paul Murphy and Simon Purnell. "A lot of these artists have been hidden from the music industry for some time," says Purnell. "[Tracking down the artists featured on the compilation] has proved to be a big deal, because these tracks were very important to them and this album has brought back their memories of that time."
