  • Red Bull Music Academy and Major Lazer will again team up this year for a party at the annual Notting Hill Carnival. The Major Lazer bash has become something of a Carnival institution these past few years (the scramble for the free tickets each year is clearly indicative of this fact). Red Bull Music Academy will again be involved, although this will be the first year without Dave Taylor, AKA Switch, after his breakaway from the Major Lazer project in 2011. It'll be left to Diplo solo to headline the affair on Monday 29th August, taking place per usual under the Westway in W11. Global dancehall star Sean Paul will be crossing the Atlantic, along with former Major Lazer collaborator Dre Skull, Trinidadian soca star Machel Montano, Montreal LuckyMe signee Lunice and New Orleans bounce rapper Nicky Da B. Representing the UK will be Lunice's TNGHT collaborator Hudson Mohawke, Melé and Lil Silva playing back-to-back, and Welsh Funky/house producer Doc Daneeka. There'll also be the now customary surprise guest artist.
