- Due out this month on Ash International, the Austrian artist's next album scores a film about "the beginning and the end of all things."
Later this month, Ash International will release Christian Fennesz's soundtrack for an Austrian/Japanese film called AUN - the beginning and the end of all things.
Directed by Edgar Honetschlägerm AUN is a philosophical and visually striking film that "tells the story of mankind's quest for the future, his desire to create the tomorrow, his fear of and loathing for the apocalypse." This sounds like a good match for Fennesz, an Austrian artist whose guitar-driven ambient pieces tend to strike a contemplative note. His original score features 12 new compositions, plus three selections from Cendre, his 2007 album with Ryuichi Sakamoto. That's the film's official trailer below. You can also stream the soundtrack's closing piece, "Hikari," over on the Touch website.
