- The Chicago house and footwork producer will release his debut album in April.
Traxman will release The Mind of Traxman on Planet Mu in April.
Though he's often grouped in with the footwork crowd, Cornelius Ferguson has a long history in Chicago's scene, with a discography that goes all the way back to the mid-'90s and includes ghetto house releases on the influential Dance Mania label. As part of Geto DJz as well as the Ghetto Teknitians crew with Rashad and Spinn (who appear here on "Going Wild"), Traxman is a prominent figure in the Windy City. Despite his longevity and reputation, he's never released a full album, which UK label—and, as of late, footwork purveyor—Planet Mu will remedy this spring with Da Mind of Traxman. According to the label, the eighteen-track record shows a "deep respect and understanding of Chicago's house music past." It will be Traxman's first solo release on Planet Mu after appearances on both volumes of the Bangs & Works compilation series and last year's Ghettoteknitianz EP.
