The four-day event launches tonight with appearances from Simon Scott and Markus Güntner
This year's Cologne Ambient Festival will get underway tonight with a show at the Basilika St. Aposteln.
The Ambient Festival has taken place every year since 2006. The 2012 edition of the four-day series features a typically experimental selection of artists, with Cambridge-based multi-instrumentalist Simon Scott and Markus Güntner scheduled to play at the festival's launch this evening. The next few days will host sets from composer Sylvain Chauveau (who'll be performing under his 0 moniker), local minimalist The Modernist (who'll be landing for a slot under his birth name, Jorg Burger) and Hauschka.
Doors tonight open at 9:00 PM, with one event per day—each to be held at the Basilika St. Aposteln—until Sunday evening.
