- Much like last year's Tryptich, the drone duo's new material will come in four separate parts.

Demdike Stare have begun releasing a new series of EPs on Modern Love called Elemental.
As you may remember from last year's Tryptich, Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty have a slightly different way of releasing their music: rather than putting out a single album, they split up their foreboding ambient pieces into series of thematically connected EPs. Elemental, their second such series, comes in four installments: Chrysanthe, Violetta, Rose and Iris. The first two are available now on vinyl in what Boomkat describes as a "deluxe quadruple gatefold book-style outer" that has space for all four parts. A double-CD release of the entire series is due out later in 2012, but with different versions of the tracks (and none of the hidden locked grooves, naturally).
Parts three and four will be available separately in early 2012. All are pressed on colored vinyl and limited to 1,000 copies. Artwork comes from DJ, curator and graphic designer Andy Votel.
