- EPM Music will release the UK techno artist's second album in January.
English techno producer Carl Taylor is ready to release his second album, True Faith.
Based in Doncaster, England, Taylor has produced a slow but steady stream of techno records for the better part of the last decade. Many of his tracks have a tough, warehouse-style vibe, others are more melodic or emotional, but according to the man himself, maintaining an element of "soul" is always a priority. This continues on True Faith, a record he tried to produce as if it was one of his first.
"I wanted to try and recreate the production vibe from when I was a teenager. The naivety, adventure and excitement of discovering how to make music," he says. "Each track was sequenced on the MPC with arrangements created live to keep analysis to a minimum. For me, thinking too much often kills the art—which then reduces it to a refinement of over-consideration and reflection. I feel this is inferior to the burst of emotion and rapid thought that comes with an initial idea."
True Faith combines previously unreleased tracks with recent singles like "Perplexer," "Violet" and "Only U." It will be available digitally in January on EPM Music.
