DJ Koze, John Maus, Peven Everett and Whitest Boy Alive are just a few of the many acts confirmed for the the three-week event.
Sydney Festival have announced their full program for 2012.
The annual event is Sydney's biggest art and culture festival, and always brings a plethora of DJs and live acts to the city. This year, Keystone Festival Bar (formerly known as Becks Festival Bar) at the Hyde Park Barracks will be home to a majority of the more electronic acts. Chicago soul man Peven Everett will be presented by Sydney institution Mad Racket, Picnic are bringing in the iconic Andrew Weatherall and house artist Neville Watson, and Future Classic are throwing a deep disco showcase with DJ Koze and Prins Thomas. In addition, the Keystone Bar stage will be graced by indie groovers The Whitest Boy Alive, eccentric Japanese soul troupe Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro, the bright and bubbly Dan Deacon Ensemble and recent Stones Throw signees The Stepkids among many others.
There will be all manner of performances and exhibitions around the city between January 7th and 29th, ranging from dance, theatre, forums, visual art, film and a broad range of music. Festival First Night brings all of these elements together, notably with funk, soul and disco legend Norman Jay playing an eight-hour set in his party bus.
