The veteran UK jock will make his debut at the club next month.
Saturday 20th August at Berghain/Panorama Bar will feature sets from Ben Klock, Monolake, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Sasha.
Sasha has pretty much been at the top of the dance music tree since his nights spent honing the progressive house sound in the mid-'90s through his residency at UK institution Renaissance, which, as we reported last week, is on the cusp of a relaunch. His appeal was at a truly international level by the end of that decade—his and long-term sparring partner John Digweed's residency at erstwhile New York super club Twilo became the stuff of legend. More recently Sasha has adopted Ibiza as his new stomping ground. In addition to dates across the island, he also returned to the Ushuaïa beach hotel this year, hosting a bi-weekly party, Never Say Never.
With all this in mind, it is perhaps a little surprising that Sasha's gig at P Bar next month represents his first trip to the German capital since the early '00s, when he was in town to play the Love Parade. Although there are other acts to be confirmed, he'll be joined by Osgut label boss Nick Höppner during the night time portion of the party, with Motor City Drum Ensemble (making his sophomore appearance) and resident Prosumer lined up for Sunday daytime.
Downstairs meanwhile, Monolake will present his all-encompassing surround sound show, in addition to sets from Heiko Laux and residents Ben Klock and Fiedel.
