- Acid, synth pop and Chicago house all run together on the West London producer's first full-length.
London-based artist June will release his first album, Cytheria, later this month on Argy's These Days imprint.
The album comes less than a year after June's debut record—a self-released, untitled, rubber-stamped 12-inch that first appeared in shops last May. Despite its low profile, June 01 found an audience in some influential DJs and producers, not least Argy, who tracked down the anonymous artist in his "secret back-alley of West London" and proposed he record a full-length for These Days.
Cytheria includes all three tracks from that EP, ten new ones and "Sea Of Stars," which first appeared on Music From Mathematics Vol. 6, a mini-comp on Jamal Moss' Mathematics Recordings. As with all of June's work so far, the album is a vaguely nostalgic affair that blends synth pop, acid and Chicago house. A 12-inch sampler of the album, which includes remixes from DJ Sprinkles, is currently available on These Days. You can hear full streams from that one and June's earlier releases on his Soundcloud page.
