- The Sheffield-based Tanzanian has teamed up with Maurice Fulton to produce her debut solo full-length.
Mim Suleiman will release Running Back's first ever full-length album in June.
Originally from Zanzibar, Suleiman has now settled in England, where she's made a name for herself by contributing vocals in Swahili and English for funk and soul outfit Bare Knuckle Soul and afro-beat troupe Rafiki Jazz, both of which are based in Sheffield. She's now looking to merge the two styles on her solo debut, and the project will see her team up with Sheffield-based producer extraordinaire Maurice Fulton, who has most recently been active under his Syclops guise on DFA. The current outlet for most of Fulton's new productions has been his Bubbletease Communications podcast, and anyone wanting to sample his work with Suleiman should check out episodes 51, 52 and 53.
