  • Two of Detroit's most respected figureheads are set to descend on Ireland in the week leading up to this year's DEAF festival. Derrick May will be the first to arrive on Friday 16th October, and is set to take to the decks at Dublin's Pod venue for the entire night. Due to Dublin's stringent licensing regulations, that will only mean a four-hour set for the techno legend, but it still marks a rare chance to hear an extended performance from the Transmat boss. If house and disco is more your thing (or if you live in the south of the country without the will to travel up to Dublin), you might be interested to hear that Theo Parrish will be swinging by Cork's Pavilion Bar on Wednesday 21st October. Although the show will finish at 2am, the club's early opening means that the Sound Signature head honcho will also have a chance to stretch things out a bit, as well as giving Thursday morning's workers a little bit more time in bed.
