- Axel Willner is in the studio with John Stanier finishing up his new album, due out in May.
According to sources at Kompakt, Swedish loop lover The Field has nearly finished the recording of his second full-length and is hoping to release it later this year.
The man whose mother calls him Axel Willner is 99% done with the recording of his as yet-untitled new album and, in fact, if all went well in the studio this week, should be 100% done. Willner was scheduled to meet up with Battles drummer John Stanier for some sessions this week to polish off some finishing touches in what should prove to be a much more organic affair than 2007's From Here We Go Sublime. With Michael Mayer and Jörg Burger set to master it in the first week of February, we're guessing that the May 16th release date we've heard from our friends at the label is a relatively solid one.
