- “We’re more interested in atmosphere. The album is darker and heavier – a reaction to all that minimal stuff that has become a type of mainstream.
The fifth Swayzak album is finally on its way. 'Some Other Country' will be released in September.
It's been three years since Swayzak's last studio album, ‘Loops From the Bergerie’, and 'Some Other Country' promises to add a new, compositional dimension to their dubby techno sound. “We’re more interested in atmosphere,” says David "Brun" Brown. “The album is darker and heavier – a reaction to all that minimal stuff that has become a type of mainstream.”
As always, the album will feature guests in the studio, this time Berlin producer and DJ Cassy, who contributes vocals to 'Quiet Life' and 'Smile and Receive'; regular Swayzak vocalist Richard Davis on 'No Sad Goodbyes'; and Italian pop’n’roll band Les Fauves on 'Silent Luv', which is billed as 'Monty Python goes techno'.
