  • Discogs has opened four new marketplaces dedicated to movies, books, comics and posters. The music database and marketplace is trying to tap into other collector cultures with the launch of Filmogs, Bookogs, Comicogs and Posterogs. Each site works on the same principle as Discogs, allowing users to both submit and browse data as well as sell items. The current focus is on building the databases of each site. Fees for listing and selling items have been temporarily waived in an effort to get new users to make submissions on the nascent platforms, which are currently operating in a public beta. Discogs launched a site dedicated to audio equipment, called Gearogs, back in April. Discogs has recently been clamping down on unofficial releases on the site, whose database reached five million artists in June.
