  • Moogfest 2017, which will take place in Durham, North Carolina from May 18th through the 21st, has announced a first slate of artists. The festival, now in its 11th year, celebrates the legacy of Bob Moog (the founder of Moog Music) with a wealth of concerts, presentations, workshops and other events taking place both day and night, and featuring a broad range of artists and speakers. Today's announcement focuses on the daytime Future Thought program. Detroit noise icons Wolf Eyes will host a workshop and conversation, S U R V I V E members Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein will present music from their Stranger Things soundtrack and RVNG Intl. will co-present workshops with Syrinx and Visible Cloaks. A collaboration between The Haxan Cloak and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner is also in the works, along with appearances from Nona Hendryx, Moor Mother and Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco and Laraaji, the latter of whom is booked for his debut eight-hour sleep concert. Expect more details, about keynote speakers, headliners and the nighttime Future Sound schedule, to be revealed in the coming weeks. Read our review of last year's Moogfest.
