  • Experimental Brooklyn artist Eaves is putting out an album through PTP next month. PTP, formerly known as Purple Tape Pedigree, started out releasing grime-influenced club music from the likes of Celestial Trax and CYPHR, but since the name change earlier this year, they've started to move into a more experimental realm. Eaves first appeared on Purple Tape Pedigree last year with the four-part Gorilla, released through the label's digital arm, and now he'll hit vinyl with Verloren (German for "lost"). The digital version will arrive on December 2nd, with wax following in January. According to PTP, Verloren places "A lens to the relationship we have with digital environments, operating in the uncanny valley in which we seem to find ourselves." The album runs the gamut from ambient to experimental club music, with "mysterious human-like sounds... buried under layers of sonic bombardments." "If reality mimics our ominous, fictional projections of the future," says Eaves, "it's clear that our current systems aren't resisting as much as they should be; or perhaps we will always follow the fictions we create."
