  • Native Instruments has announced Maschine Jam. A new addition to the Maschine family of hardware/software controllers, Maschine Jam takes a different approach to its predecessors. An 8x8 grid of pads provides controls over patterns and scenes and can be used as a multitrack step sequencer (with up to eight simultaneous sequences), a real-time recorder in Pad Mode, and a keyboard in Piano Roll Mode. There's also a Variation Engine, which automatically interjects new rhythms and melodies based on predefined parameters, and a "humaniser" for adding musical asynchronies into quantised material. Below the grid lies eight vertical touch strips. Effects can be mapped to and controlled by the strips, which can also revert back to saved setting using a Lock function. The strips can also control parameters such as volume, instrument macros and more besides. Maschine Jam also comes with sounds from Maschine 2 and Komplete 11 in addition to Machine's drum synth modules. It can operate within any DAW as a plug-in. Watch a promo video for Maschine Jam.
Native Instruments will release Maschine Jam on September 29th, 2016 for €399.
