  • Funk icon George Clinton will release an album on Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label "sometime next year." The news broke yesterday (Tuesday, August 23rd) via US radio station KCRW, which was hosting performances from Parliament Funkadelic and Brainfeeder affiliate Thundercat. Once the word was out, Flying Lotus followed up with tweets from his own and the label's accounts, confirming the news. It'll be Clinton's first original material since 2005's album with the P-Funk All Stars, How Late Do U Have 2BB4UR Absent?. No title or tracklist is available yet. Before the record drops, Clinton will line up alongside Parliament Funkadelic at a couple of Brainfeeder showcases in California next month. Also billed for the September 16th (San Francisco) and 17th (LA) dates are Thundercat, The Gaslamp Killer, Shabazz Palaces and Flying Lotus.
