  • Details of the future of Obonjan, the Croatian island run by UK promoters Sound Channel, have been revealed. News of the acquisition surfaced last year. At the time, Sound Channel—the company behind Unknown Festival—stated that they wanted to transform the island, located near Sibenik on the Dalmatian coast, into "the world's first curated entertainment tourist destination." They've now shared more details about the venture, which will be open this year from July 18th through mid-September. Most of the new information is available in an online brochure accessible via the island's official site. It outlines a number of accommodation, food, wellbeing and shopping options, as well as a music programme. The details are still hazy, but artists such as Roy Ayers, DJ Shadow, Matthew Herbert, Lindstrøm and Talaboman are all confirmed to touch down throughout the season. Some of the acts will play in an amphitheatre, which will also host film screenings.
