  • Paradox, AKA Dev Pandya, is releasing a record of breakbeats under the name Wax Breaks, due out in March. As both Paradox and Alaska, Pandya is a veteran of the drum & bass and breaks community. In addition to his work in jungle and early drum & bass, he pioneered a strain called drumfunk or choppage focused on intricate sampling and dicing. Wax Breaks is meant to hearken back to the late '80s era of breaks. It's a collection of 16 breakbeats carefully prepared for "mixing and sampling purposes at 33 and 45 RPM," according to the label.
