Björk has announced an acoustic version of her latest album, Vulnicura, due out on December 4th.
The Icelandic artist released her ninth album this year to much acclaim, and she's also dropped a series of remixes to go with it. According to FACT, the self-released Vulnicura Strings is the latest piece of the puzzle, and it's a vinyl release that offers the entire album in its acoustic form—strings and voice only.
The new version features new violin solos from Una Sveinbjarnardóttir as well as the "viola organista," an instrument designed by Leonardo Da Vinci that "uses a friction belt to vibrate individual strings (similar to a violin), with the strings selected by pressing keys on the keyboard (similar to an organ)." Björk used the only existing instrument in the world for Vulnicura Strings.
