  • Emeralds announced today via Twitter that band member Mark McGuire has left the group. Steve Hauschildt, another member of the US experimental outfit, broke the news on his personal Twitter account with this message: "It is with much regret that I announce Mark McGuire is no longer a member of Emeralds. We wish him only the best of luck." He went on to say: "Emeralds will continue on as a duo consisting of myself and John [Elliott]. Thank you so much for your continued support over the last seven years." The Ohio trio have been making music together for more than five years, but hit a new level of popularity in 2010 with their breakthrough album Does It Look Like I'm Here?, which they followed up late last year with Just To Feel Anything. McGuire is by far the most prolific member of the group, having released dozens of albums, EPs and CD-Rs during his time with Emeralds. Hauschildt also confirmed via Twitter that he and Elliott will tour Australia, Europe, Japan and the US in 2013. Details for those dates are still forthcoming.
