Your music style on “Who Still Kill Sound?” seems like a mixed bag of craziness with neo-rave breakbeat, acid house bumping up next to ragga bootleg jungle and booty bass. Does this mean your own music listening choices are equally broad and crazy?
- Yeah, but Im more likely to listen to styles of music that are different then the kind I am making at the moment. I like lots of quiet music which often surprises people. When I go out clubbin’ I gotta hear kickass dance music though.

Is there any genre or style you have yet to cram into your repertoire? Like Polkas?
- Ive stayed clear of meddling with country music, but I’ve got plans for polka.

How many years have you been making and releasing music?
- Making music since I was 14, I’m 25 now. My first records were released around 8 years ago, some acid techno and gabber stuff from two groups I was in called Ariel and Spacewurm respectively before I went solo as kid606.

Are you one of those producers who is eternally locked in his dark studio making tunes in front of the monitors and a mass of music making gadgets, or do you see the Californian sun occasionally?
- I hardly ever spend time locked in my studio. So far most of my music has been made while on tour or away from home. I really look forward to getting locked into my studio this year and being more isolated.

In past years you’ve toured extensively throughout Europe, and you last made it here to Australia in 2003. What were your touring highlights for 2004?
- Opening for Kraftwerk in brazil, playing with Fantomas in london, various Tigerbeat6 label nights with DJ Rupture, drop the lime, and com.a. And One of my craziest shows ever at Mogwai's all tommorrows parties night.

Do you do live performances of your stuff or are you one of those producers who also likes to DJ?
- A mix of the two. Right now I’m more interested in doing more DJ mashup stuff live as kid606 and more live music with my band project I am working on. Most placed I get booked to play as kid606 are dance clubs and I’m really loving playing these type of gigs (where the focus and energy is more on dancing then just watching the stage).

You seem to be quite the film buff with your bio listing some excellently dark and skewed films like Blue Velvet, Clockwork Orange and lots of Peter Greenaway movies. Does cinema influence your music?
- My dad was a filmmaker and I always have thought so much of movies and have been such a geek about seeing so many that its nice for someone to notice that, so yeah I’m incredibly influenced by movies.

And continuing that theme, was the cheekily titled release “Do sheep dream of macrobiotic humans?” inspired by Philip K. Dick’s book or Bladerunner, the movie?
- The title of the book, but I saw the movie first....

I’ve got to say that your song titles and CDs have a very fun edge to them. I find it hard to pick a favourite amongst the one mentioned above, “I Wanna Rock (You Just Left The Smallest Rave On Earth)”, “Shotgun Wedding vol.3: Oh, So NOW You Fuckers Wanna Dance?” and “Phat With A Phd”. What is your favourite song/CD title from your back catalogue?
- "It'll take millions in plastic surgery to make me black" still makes me chuckle.

What’s on for Kid606 in 2005? More production, more touring, or some kicking back in that Californian sun?
- Working on unfulfilled ambitions:) I’ve been simultaneously working on three different albums for the past couple years and a band project, that I’m really excited about.
