  • San Francisco based producer and DJ Behrouz has been rather busy of late from DJing around the world to working hard in the studio. Behrouz mixed the first CD of the In House We Trust 2 compilation from Yoshitoshi with some of his own workings appearing. Luzon, AKA Stacey Burket, who has been responsible for some monster tracks including The Baguio Track, offers two quality mixes on this doublepack. Original mix Behrouz lays to waste anyone who prefer their music light. Disturbing with destructive dancefloor capabilities, the original displays dark drums, desolate moaning synths and soul-retching samples. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Behourz Tribal mix Strap on your tribal masks as Behrouz shows some versatility with some storming percussive beats. A little more friendly towards the dancefloors with the addition of driving grooves and relentless pace. As you get further into this mix, it just keeps getting better as the percussion is upped and the haunting melodies arrive. Luzon Vocal mix Luzon’s producing skills are noticeable straight away with distinctive drums and percussion whilst using the elements from the original to great effect. Amazingly the feel of the darkness is lost somehow without the addition of new sounds. The disturbing vocals get busy as you can make out the filtered spine tingling vocal yelling “Azab”. Full Distorted guitars accompany a great breakdown as the mix drops superbly back into the mix. Luzon Dub mix The vocal is still present in the dub but its very minimal as this mix is very similar to the above.
