  • Dave Seaman’s Audiotherapy re-launched late of 2002 and this, the Limited Edition double pack Sampler, is to give the world a taste of what was to come for the record label. This release pushes the various new and changed yet still well defined ‘Ideas Of House’ onto the world using productions by relatively unknown artist from around the world. A1 – Ashland – Clear (Original Mix) Starting this double pack is that of ‘Clear’, one of those tracks that is so well done that once you have heard it you will recognize it instantly from then on. Produced by Chicago’s Ashland, it features a great female vocal that really gives this track great depth and joint with the heavy rough breakdowns and moody up-and-down atmosphere of this release. Ashland’s Clear has made its way onto amongst others, Dave Seaman’s recent Global Underground 022 compilation. A2 - Infusion – Legacy (Album Mix) Also on Seaman’s GU:022 is of Legacy by the Infusion boys. However this is the Album mix, which is a much more subtle version. The solid production showcases the talent of this Melbourne based trio, and it’s easy to see why they have been around the world and back on various tours. This mix of Legacy is much more laid back and it features some great instrumental sounds coupled with the full length of the deep vocal that flows along side this track. B1 - Digby & Oliver – Oracle Beginning with a strange alien like ambient sound, Oracle really keeps you waiting before the bass-line kicks off. The weird sounds grow and build along side the bass and surprising they all taper off into silence... giving you just a sample of what is to come. Then without warning the full force of the two Melbourne based producers (Simon Digby and Gab Oliver) talent is thrown back into full view. It is a very dark tribal sounding number that is absolutely spot on. C1 - Hip Service – Badaboom Badabing Badaboom Badabing hits you right in the face, from the get go, with an amazingly vibrant bass-line. And from there… it just gets better! This track must be heard to be understood. It is so uplifting it with its bass-line and synths that you will find yourself bouncing along with it. It goes through an array of different housey sounds before coming to an end. A must have! D1 – Gloat – Wuaarp The last track on this double pack is Wuaarp by Gloat. A track that has been in Dave Seaman’s record box for years now, Wuaarp, is still doing much dance floor damage. However some of the sounds are starting to become slightly dated. A breakdown is featured towards the end of the track in a way that is very well done, and hits you in the best possible way at a very unexpected moment using some great ambient and vocal beats. AudioTherapy is refining itself as a label and also the house genre as a whole with this sampler, reminding us that house itself isn’t just one form of music.
