Seb Fontaine - Horizons

  • Perfecto’s latest offering 'Horizons' is a double CD from UK DJ Seb Fontaine. Known for his diverse sets traversing many pigeon holed genres Seb’s latest CD is no different. CD 1 delves into the funkier side of Seb’s box, pulling out ‘U Need it’ by Peter Bailey and the tune that most house DJ’s have had on the spin in the last 6 months Layo & Bushwacka’s ‘Love Story’ (Tim Deluxe mix). Body Pump’s ‘Paradise Lost’ brightens up the CD, with the popular ‘Dirty Waltzer’ by Finger Lickin drawing Fontaine’s one cd affair with deep grooves and sci-fi Funk to a close. CD 2begins with the ever popular ‘La La Land’ by Green Velvet (Futureshock mix), a great tune in it’s own right it is nicely suited to setting the tone for this energy based, faster, harder CD. A fairer representation of Seb’s DJ style, tunes that he has played out recently make an appearance on the tracklisting. ‘Safe From Harm’ by Narcotic Thrust’s high pitched organ and deep bassline groove ease the listener into the dominant tunes on the CD. A three track trick of Slackers ‘Looky Thing’, ‘Electronica’s ‘Burn Up’ and Gaston & Rowell’s ‘Summer Skies’ provide the highlight of this energetic mix. Overall, the CD offers a couple of hours of tunes that many house, progressive and harder edged DJ’s have played recently and is a fair representation of were Seb is at in his current DJ’ing life cycle. Those who like Seb, will like this.
