- The Boy Lost In Music, otherwise known as Gervase Cooke serves up another platter of tough breaks, leading up to his artist album, Lost In Music soon to be released on TCR in Feburary next year.
Side A. Crazy Things
Using at least 4 different drum patterns throughout, one being a direct interpolation of the Kasha vs. Shara Nelson classic "U", Crazy Things is definitely full of crazy things. Farty bass line and sweet female vocals, given plenty of filter treatment - she sounds like she's saying "Kill Me" all throughout, however it's actually the last part of "All the crazy things you do to me". This is breakbeat at it's finest.
Side B. Coming To with Meat Katie
I have a soft spot for Meat Katie's work especially all the tribal breaks stuff he comes out with, and this doesn't disappoint. Four to the floor housey madness with plenty of build ups, sweeps, deep bass and as always, full of funk.
After the acclaim that Driving/It's A Remix recieved on the Lost 1 release, it should be easy to see that Lost 2 is going to get it's praises.
