- The snail's pace of releases from New York's two best disco groups makes a whole lot more sense now. Metro Area's Darshan Jesrani and Escort's Dan Balis team up here for a journey into the skies on Fantasy Airlines. Om Records mainstay Lisa Shaw turns in vocals scrubbed free of much personality, but that's exactly what this old-school disco track needs. The strings, bass, liquid synth and their interplay with the drums are the stars of this show. But fans of Metro Area's penchant for moderation need not worry: the track rarely reaches to a climax that'll have you screaming for more. Instead, 'Fantasy Lines' is intelligent hedonism: tasteful enough for your next '70s-themed party (the original), cool enough to rock a basement disco show (the flipside's dub).
